General Position Summary
The Assistant Project Manager will assist the Project Management Team in all related duties. The Project Management Team is responsible to plan and oversee the project to ensure a timely and cost-effective outcome. This includes assisting with estimating and scheduling, budgeting, organization, and implementation of the project. During project transitions, this position would be involved with project estimating efforts.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
- Demonstrate commitment to an Injury-Free Environment.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, designers, and consultants.
- Management of subcontractors and venders schedule, performance, and payments.
- Participate in project meetings
- Complete understanding of the project’s contractual obligations
- Identify project risk and develop mitigation plans
- Ensure timely notices to the owner regarding extra work, design changes, delays, impacts, etc.
- Project submittals, change orders, process RFIs & shop drawings
- Manage and/or coordinate fabrication equipment and material resources
- Manage the project budget
- Compile reports regarding financial, schedule and production reports
- Prepare and coordinate payments from owner and ensure timely payments

Education & Experience
- Associates or Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction, Business or Engineering preferred, but experience will be considered
Work Environment/Job Conditions
This job is performed both in the office and in the fabrication shop/field. Work requires experience and confidence working in and around heavy equipment, systems and conditions. Activities and responsibilities require frequent sitting (often working on a computer), frequent walking, standing, light lifting, bending, and reaching. Due to tool and computer usage, there may be repetitive motions of the hands and wrists.
